False bottoms are a great way to reduce muck from creating problems with a water feature. I prefer using plastic egg crate (light diffuser) covered with fiberglass window screen. If you are interested, I can throw some photos up of a vivarium I am currently building which incorporates a stream and a pond.

I think I'm going to try to just use a plastic/glass sheet to divide the water and land; does anyone have advice on that? Also, is sillicone removable eventually if I wanted to redo the tank?
