Hi there. We have one of those hollow, half logs in the tank as a hiding spot for the toads. It keeps getting mold on the underside. Do we just need to spritz the tank less? I don't see any mold anywhere else, just the log.
Here's Jack waiting for me to feed them.
He comes to the front of the tank every time I go near.
He knows who has the crickets ;o)
Throw some sow bugs or springtails in there. They eat mold![]()
mold is something that will happen. It comes and goes. Besides springtails, you can also just scrub it out with some water.
I scrubbed it off and put it back. I'll just keep an eye out for it in the future. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to make the little guys sick.
