Here is what was sold as a Fantasy. But looks almost all cornuta.

If I saw it without a label I'd def say it was a cornuta.
Its throat doesnt have spots but isnt colored all the way in yet.
It is defintely gorgeous either way!!
So how do you tell the difference?
Something with this close of a depiction you would definitely think that some people would breed these with the purpose to sell them as Cornuta.. I love this frog, but that would kind of suck buying a Green Cornuta only to find out later it's a fantasy frog. I don't think this would bother the average person, because the frog is beautiful, but if you were going to try and breed these (as Cornuta) then things might become a little frustrating.
This makes me think of that thread Namio made questioning the breeding problems with F2 Cornuta. Maybe it's because a lot of them aren't Cornuta and they're actually hybrids? Ehh.. Regardless, beautiful frog mike. I would have bought it if I saw it.![]()
I really can't tell what it is. It has all cornuta features and I've never seen a fantasy that looks this close to a cornuta. Usually I can tell right away that its a fantasy.
I bought both frogs. They look 99% cornuta. I am keeping them so we will see what they do.

If they do turn out to be Cornuta, I would like to know their origins and who is breeding green ones. I only ever see the brown CB Cornuta froglets for sale.
Both throats are dark. Not fully colored in but close to it. Not dots like cranwelli

Hmmm... interesting. I'm starting to suspect that throat coloration is not always true (although usually are true) to differentiate fantasy from Cornuta. Perhaps skull structure is a more reliable trait? The interorbital space (the "forehead" between eyes) of Cornuta appears to be more even, as opposed to Cranwelli concaves upward. I wonder how reliable that can be either.
already kinda went over this with Grif in another post about the thraots but i have a pic of my fantasy and his throat, im tryna clear up the throat topic myself on what to look for but here's my Nom-Nom...sorry its a bit blurry i had to zoom in the cameranow he does have a little Eco Earth on his chin but you can still see how dark his throat is, not sure if this is what u meant by "dark throat" or if thats just his beard i heard some ppl say they have? im just trying to clear this topic up in my head lol
Look at the photo of the month on the home page. It is of two Cornutas. You can see that both of them have solid black throats.
Male Cranwellis and Fantasies often have dark spots on their throats. When the males call they get "bruising" on their throats that makes it look darker. But it still won't look solid black or brown like a Cornuta.
OHHHH ok thnx lol
