    Default Question

    Hi all

    I just picked up a european green tree frog & he was the only one they had in the shop...was just wondering if he would be ok with american green tree frogs?

    Im new to frogs but have many reptiles lol

    No, absolutely not. Aside from the fact that they are from completely different parts of the world and have different requirements (American Green Treefrogs are warm-temperature loving frogs, European Green Treefrogs don't tolerate those conditions well), American Green Treefrogs are usually wild caught and carry an array of parasites and possibly serious diseases to which your European Green would have no resistance.

    Ok thanks for that John. V useful to know. Will just have to find some more Euro ones to keep the little guy company lol

    When you find some more Hyla arborea, make sure to quarantine them before introducing them to your already established one.

    Ok well I should be able to get some by the end of the week. How long should I quarantine them for?

    30 days is the minimum recommended quarantine time I believe.
