Hello, I have had a White's Dumpy Tree Frog (Named Shahar) Since February, and I have been having a few issues with her tank. One of the biggest issues I worry about is the mold. I notice it on her driftwood climbing set. It used to sit directly on the substrate and get mold all the time. Since then I have replaced the substrate with paper towels and have elevated the climbing set so it isn't constantly sitting on the wet ground. For a while the problem seemed under control but recently I have been seeing more and more mold. Most of it is white mold, but I have been seeing what I think is black mold. Usually when I seen this I take my whittling knife to it. (Don't worry, Shahar isn't on it when I do.) Should I take out the climbing set and let it dry or replace it? I mist the tank 2-3 times a day, though sometimes I have my automatic mister go off every 3 hours for 45 seconds to keep the humidity between 40 and 60 percent. The temperature is around 80 degrees.
Another thing I have noticed is that Shahar isn't very active. Most of the time she will sit in one spot until I take her out to feed. She is fed 1-2 crickets every 2 days. When feeding, she can be very active, constantly hopping about and out of the bucket, but as soon as I put her back in the tank she'll get on one of her climbing sets and sit there until the next feeding. Rarely will I find her moved elsewhere. Is this normal? She appears healthy. She has bright eyes, no marks on the skin (beside some scars that where there when I got her) and leaves a 'gift about once a week. Any thoughts?
