Just wanted to set this straight about feeding rodents.

Hi guys I have a giant male Pyxie Frog and have heard many different opinions on how much and how often to feed him mice. If you want to check him out you can look at my photo album on here or some feeding on youtube. Also curious if feeder anoles is a possibility as a staple.

Feeding anoles is at best a horrible idea. First they are little bit on the expensive side to be considered as a regular food source. Second, all anoles in the pet trade are wild caught and as such, will most likely have gastrointestinal parasites that would only be transfered to your frog.

Oh ok thanks for the tip I wont do that anymore then. I have fed him two in the past and he loved them but he loves anything that moves. I've finally made the decision to only feed him a rodent once a month. Crickets and worms are his staples but he is getting sick of night crawlers any other recommendations for worms or insects to liven up his diet? He is not too much of a tong feeder any more either I have noticed

Skip the rodents. Once a month or every other month might be ok, its still more than I would feed. If you need additional food items for your frog, you can try roaches, superworms, waxworms, silkwrms and so on. The more variety you feed the better.

thanks thats exactly what I needed to know. Is there any other store bought insects besides roaches that are healthier than crickets. Or should I just stick with dusting them with the powder twice a week.

Keep on dusting and try to feed other insects from time to time.
