I'm thinking about cutting off the top 2/3 of the top all the way across, or maybe just cutting huge windows in it from the front and the sides, and then I can get at the tank for cleaning, wouldn't ever work to hold many fish again, but would be better for a fat frog This would be my back up tank, after I build my big setup with the pond goop stuff. I would at least leave the bottom tube intact, and maybe just cut the front but leave the sides on so he feels more safe? ideas? I already have the water set up to only go to the one side, so its dry on the other side. Its just such a pretty tank, I hate to sell it to get rid of it, but I don't see myself keeping anything but fat frogs in the near future if I had tree-frogs, I'd of course keep it the way it was... please any info would be appreciated, bought the dremmel to alter it today
wow...that tank has SO much potential. you could actually build 2 tanks, one theme, multispecies, yet separated. is the problem with accessibility? i only ask because i'm not sure exactly why you would want to alter such a cool tank? you have the opportunity to do what a lot of people would love to do, put 2 species together sharing a common landscape, yet never have physical contact with each other. it could be awesome!!

that would be really cool with the multi species, just so hard to clean it, no accessability, sharp real volcanic rock juts out so you have to twist your arm to clean itwhich is why I was thinking convert it to a setup for fat frogs, like pixies, ect. but two species is pretty cool

can the rock be removed? or modify the tank to the point of removing the rock? unless you like the rock, then um, nevermind![]()

here are a few pics of what I did so far,,, made my first cutout, one thing I could do, is close off the tubes and make the right tank a fish tank, left the frog tank, but I think it would drive my frog nuts to not be able to get at them in the tube.... here are the pics

That is definitely going to be interesting. You planning on doing a planted tank on the fish side? If so, let me know, i can most likely hook you up with some of my trimmings![]()

ya, except any from the park would have pestisides. I bought some moss for this tank,, but my frog kept eating it. I just found a way to seal up the outside edge nicelythin rubber tubing from the auto parts store... 1/4 inch fits over the edge and makes it look like a nice continues edge with the 1/4 inch think black top
I just realized, if I put the moss up high, I could still use it, he wont be getting up there.
Here is my tank almost done!
