Default White's Tree frog Housing Question

My White's has been jumping into the lid a lot and making me freak out. I let him out when I can but usually his awake hours conflict with my asleep hours. I have 4 cats (as previously mentioned) so it's obviously a very bad idea to just keep the lid open and let him let himself out when he wants to be.

I read that several people who had this problem stopped having it when they got a bigger tank. (Mainly one that is more vertically oriented) But I'm not sure if having an aquarium with mostly mesh would be safe? The one I had in mind was from http://www.harrisinwonderland.com/products/index.shtml I was looking at this one. V

    Fresh Air Habitat
Sturdy aluminum frame with durable black mesh screening and water resistant PVC bottom. Essential equipment for most chameleons, appreciated by small water dragons, iguanas, and more. Available in:
    Small (20" x 18" x 12") - $39.99
    Medium (26" x 24" x 12") - $65.99
    Large (30" x 30" x 18") - $89.99

Or should I just try to find a standard 30 gallon aquarium that isn't mesh? (I live in the middle of nowhere so I can't just go to a nearby pet store or something without driving halfway across Maine... It'd almost be more convenient to go to Canada. Any links to buying such a tank from a reliable site online would be very appreciated)

    Hi!
I could be totally wrong here, but not sure how easy it would be to mantain humidity in one of those mesh vivs. I use an exoterra terrarium (45x45x50cm) that has a mesh lid, but the rest is glass. I got mine from a pet shop on ebay

Katie is correct. These are not suitable for most frogs, particularly when set up in a normal room of your house.

I use the same type of tank that Katie uses and it has been absolutely wonderful. Mine is a little larger than what you might need with only one frog, but my guys just love it and the extra tall space. It gives them plenty of room to jump down from vines and we've never had a problem with them getting to the top of the tank (unless they've crawled up there to sleep).

I bought mine at PetSmart, but I did look on Amazon. They had good pricing available. I found a similar tank, but different brand and it's on sale for half off right now! So that might be a really good deal to get right now!

This is the one that I use: http://www.amazon.com/Exo-Terra-Terr...3672753&sr=1-1

It's 33 gallons. It's very very similar to the one I showed you before; I just sent that one because it was on sale and I didn't know what size you were going for ; )

Exactly! haha! But glad that I could help you find what you are looking for! The tank has really really worked out well. I love the fact that the doors open outwards. It makes it extremely easy to clean, feed, and just interact in general. I'm able to reach in and spot clean, or spray the tank with out too much disturbance to the frogs. Anyway, best of luck earning that money! It will be well-worth the purchase!
