Here are some of the shots from my first official shoot with my Samurai Blue Nephilim. He is a little over a year old. He has scoliosis, but it doesn't limit his mobility too much. He is the biggest teddy bear out of my whole group. He let me take all the pictures I wanted.I love, love, LOVE that he kept his gular sac mostly inflated during the pictures!!! This is the first time I've captured that on film. Although he didn't actually call until I put him back in his enclosure of course! So here is my gorgeous boy:

Stunning!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the baggy throat, how can you tell he has scholiosis?
Like any vertebrate if there is a curvature of the spine it is known as Scoliosis. A disease that affects mammals, Reptiles, and Amphibians. It usually shows up during their development as they grow and mature. Usually being hereditary, but can come from a Calcium deficiency or MBD(Metabolic Bone Disease) Which is a very serious disease caused by a severe lack of calcium causing brittle or rubbery bones. Can also be due to a lack of Vitamin D3 which is used by the body to metabolize calcium to bone.
If you look at some of the pics of his back closely you can see the curvature at the lower left.
What a stud! Awesome Samurai, Grif. Such beautiful colors![]()
Wow Grif, I love that frog.. I think he was showing off for the camera! Where did you get him and why don't I ever see frogs like this in person?! >_<
I see it in the pic from behind
Up until this year Yusuke of Samurai Reptiles Japan had all the breeders. He is the creator of this particular morph of C. Cranwelli. Now Mike of Mike's Phat Frogs breeds them and a few other Samurai morphs of C. Cranwelli and C. Ornata. They are usually a lot higher than the basic color morphs and are almost never seen in chain pet stores. This particular fella came from Mike. I adopted him. He cannot be used for breeding due to the possibility that the Scoliosis could be hereditary.
If you need further info on the Samurai breeds and morphs check with Mike.
He looks amazing!!! and I love the name!!!

2- Sulcata Torts- Chunk and Scoot

He looks nice! He might have been able to breed but not sure if his scoliosis is genetic or not. Samurai is a broker not the breeder.
Nephilim = Giant in jewish mythology
I was under the impression that Nuance Herptile Farm in Japan developed the blue morph.
They did
He's awesome!!! Grif, he's grown like crazy.
His colors have stayed so vibrant. Is Je housed on coco fiber?

wow, epic photos! The throat is super cool :3
Wow, those colors! Great pics!
So Handsome.......but I still say...............UNI-BOOB!!!!
Hence why it seemed to be a good name for a Pacman.Biblically the Nephilim are the offspring of Angels and humans; it seemed fitting since he is a hybrid of sorts.
Yes, all of ours are on coco fiber. Unlike a lot of Pacs though, he doesn't darken from being on substrate. He is that bright all the time! He is a master at hiding though! You wouldn't think a large blue/green frog would be able to hide so well, but he has mastered the art of burrowing without disturbing the surface too much. He will be buried in one spot in the morning and a different spot when I get home but the entire surface with be smooth and flat... I think he just tunnels around!
Thank you! I was SO excited to get pictures of it! (Frog Nerd! lol) He is the least secretive of my males about calling. As sneaky as I try to be, I have yet to actually SEE them call. I just catch them with their throats puffed. Loki is by far the most vocal of the bunch, but I have only seen him with his throat inflated once. He looked like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar. He froze and then deflated very, very slowly. LOL!![]()
