Hello all. Although I have never kept one, I have been interested in frogs for some time. My wife bought me a 18x18x24 exoterra. I have been reading and reading. Learning alot. I want to start building my viv but am overwelmed. I want to do so much that I am sure it will not fit. I will probably build a GS background.
I would really like a waterfall but I know it will take up alot of room. Is it worth it or should I give up on it for now? I am not sure what I will keep. Kinda torn between a white tree frog and leucs. Will probably just build the viv then determine which would best go in there as opposed to building it for a specific frog. Gonna let it grow for a while before I get frogs anyway.
Any general suggestions for me?
Thanks,
Stuart
i tried the waterfall idea and it was a complete failure. i think mainly because i didn't plan well enough and didn't know proper procedures for curing whatnot. not saying it cant be done, because some guys on here have done fantastic jobs on them. i would say if your passionate enough about it and you think you can be patient enough, go for it.
plan it out on paper..steps, materials, sizes. congrats on the new tank and good luck
You could always do a water fall down your back wall if you'd like. You only need an area to hold your filter pump. It's all up to you and what'd you'd like best. Trial and error on some scrap foam and see what you like best.
Here's my favorite web site. Check out his waterfalls and backgrounds. You can create a rock or false bottom to hold the water rather than self-containing, if you'd like. Either way, these ideas can lead to more ideas.

Dang you Heather. I needed to go to bed early last night but stayed up til midnight watching/reading lizard-landscapes.com. Great stuff. Thanks.
you can easily do a water feature with GS. it is not very difficult at all. dendroboard.com is an excellent resource for it.
