little flies in the frog tank

i put the coconut shreds in the tank and a few days later there were little black gnats in the tank. so i changed the bedding and then there were little white larve in the tank. the flies are breeding in the tank. i changed the bedding again and the flies continue to breed and create big problems for me. i moved the frog tank down stairs and cleaned the tank out completely and they are back. how do i keep them from coming back without using an chemical that could hurt our pyxie?

A few things this could be,

If using a 100% natural subtrate (that you should be) it cannot be helped that fly eggs do get caught up in ur bag of stuff,
now obviously they will breed due to the good conditions and walla you have what you have now,
i also had this problem but found a easy soloution, when buying ur subtrate soak it in the bath tub (obviously rinsing down before you soak ur sub) for about 20mins or so,
this should ensure any critter eggs are drowned/sloshed out.

or it could be that they have nested in a piece of bark/something woody, eitherway the soaking should work,
and try stear clear of the subtrate you were using and try a new brand if the flys cause you problems.

i opened up two different types of coconut shreds i think its coming from the window i brought her down stairs and she is no longer by the window and they seem to be staying away.
