    Default Accidental ingestion, need advice!

Ok, so I have some live pothos in my enclosures, and tonight, for the first time since ive gotten it, something went wrong. My baby African bullfrog, in his feeding frenzy, ate a piece!

I'm not sure what to do here... Is this stuff poisonous? He's acting fine, and continued his feeding as normal. What had happened was the roach slipped out of my tongs, and ran straight on a leaf. He engulfed the leaf, roach and all, swallowed, and starting spitting out the leaf with the roach gone. I thought he was gunna just spit it out, but he used his hands and tore it instead.

I thought the plant was safe. I was going to put some in my tank. Says that its harmful in large amounts. If he only had a small piece im sure its ok.

Pothos is one of the best live plant for terrarium.
Unfortunately, it is not safe and if ingested, it can poisonned the frog.
Depends on the ingested quantity and the health of the frog.

If you can go to a vet rapidly, then go.

Otherwise, just wait. It could be "ok" and no issue.

Get him to poop it out. Try a honey bath and a night crawler.

    How's he doing today?

He seems to be fine... He pooped last night right after he ate it, like he does almost every night (poop I mean, not eat pothos). I fed him nightcrawlers after he ate it, one step ahead of ya!

He's in perfect health, and it was a really tiny piece.. I think I might wait it out and if I notice any slight change I'll get him to a vet.

Hopefully it won't cause any issues since it was a small piece. The downside to having voracious eaters (like Pixies and Pacs) is that it can be easy for them to ingest things they shouldn't. Keep us posted!

the pothos are toxic to animals because of the oxalate crystals, but in small amounts I have only seen indigestion and mouth irritation. My rabbits and cat nibbled on an entire plant and they threw it up right after and were fine after lapping up water. I would take the pothos out since your frog is getting bigger. I would say you got lucky with such a small piece.
I took out all the plants in mine because he has already taken a bite out of a croton and digs the others up anyways. good luck with the frog recovery

Yeah I think I may take it out and get a bigger fake plant to put in. He's acting fine, like nothing at all happened, so that's good news! I'm keeping a close eye on him though
