If this helps, my tree frogs are in tanks with screen or mesh tops. They provide enough ventilation.

This is the type of tank that I use: http://www.amazon.com/Exo-Terra-Terr...ref=pd_sbs_k_1

It has a mesh screen top that works really well. Additionally, I know that you read the thread about my frog (that was the one about the suspected illness). I don't know if this helps, but with the suggestions I read in that thread I was able to determine to things: 1. Because of the large tank, and the type of substrate I am using, the crickets were able to burrow themselves out of reach of my frogs. I cleaned the tank out prior to switching over to feeding them outside the tank, and I found probably 20 crickets that burrowed themselves into the substrate! 2. It really helped to feed them outside of the enclosure because then I knew that the frog in question was eating.

Anyway, I hope he is okay!

Glad to hear that you made the switch to a mesh top. I hope you find that he/she eats well today once you get a good look out of the tank!

I have one of the large "critter carriers" that you can purchase at the petstore. It's a plastic tub with a plastic mesh top like this.

That's a smaller version, but it's nice because that's what I can put them in (with some substrate on the bottom) when I feed them and when I need them in there at longer when I'm cleaning the tank.

It's nice because it holds the humidity well (being plastic) but still gives good ventilation without any possible escapes.

    Hope that helps!
