Frog Identification please :)

Hi, My hubby mowed the grass and as I was walking through the yard I noticed this little guy trying to hop across and saw he had a skinned leg thinking he got in the way of the mower, so I rescued him, thinking at first glance he was a tree frog and having three already I cleaned him up and put him in my tree frog terrarium, as I checked on him this morning and noting he doesn't climb or perch on the branches but instead stays on the bottom I took him out to check his wound again and noticed his feet were not tree frog material...so here is a picture of him can you tell me what species he or she is? after seeing a pic on here of an american toad he looks quite similar, can you tell me about him, how big if he will live with the tree frogs or if I should let him go once his leg heals? and does he eat crickets too?





Do you think I should just let him go as he is, he hops around ok just don't want to leave him out there vulnerable...:/

Either American toad or Fowlers toad. They're the only toads in your area and its definitely a toad.
NOT a good idea about puting it in with your tree frogs. Toads produce bufotoxin which can harm your frogs. Remove him from there and either release him back in the wild or set up an appropriate tank for him
If his in with the tree frogs they will die. He does it crickets too.

Oh...thank you, he was in there with them for a night :/ I let him go and he hopped happily away. hope my guys will be fine

Im not to knowledgeable on the effects of bufotoxin so someone else might chime in, but I'm sure your frogs will be fine. Maybe just give things in the tank a wash.

Put a little original neosporin on his hurt area. I would keep him in a ten gallon tank on paper towel substrate with a clean water bowl for one week. Change the papertowels every day, along with the water in the water bowl. His wounds, if they are just on the surface, should seal off in a week or so. Then if you'd like, set him free. Put new neosporin on each day. Be sure it is only the ORIGINAL, because the ones with pain reliever will kill him.

Of you can't care for him for a week, put the neosporin on in a slightly thicker layer and put him back outside.
