African Bullfrog won't eat - wants to Hibernate?

I've had my african bullfrog for about a year. He's about 5 inches long. Would eat two hopper mice a week and some goldfish in between. For the past month, he refuses food. I'm keeping him somewhat warm and wet with a dry area and up until 2 weeks ago he was very active. Now, he's lethargic and refuses food. Is he trying to hibernate? I thought they didn't hibernate in captivity. Please help - he's looking thinner and is slow moving. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I don't know a lot about Pyxicephalus, but I do know that a diet of mice and goldfish can lead to all kinds of health problems, including death.

I live in Southern California where the temperature is always moderate.

Terrible diet - if you're using feeder goldfish he could well have extensive gut parasites now. I'd try different, more appropriate foods. These frogs don't really hibernate. And if it's a year old and 5 inches, it's probably just a large female.

wow feeder fish can give stomach parasites?? I was about to buy one for my pacman. I guess I better not I thought he would enjoy one. I am glad I saw that. Are any fish safe for frogs?

If they are frozen you should be alright.
