Is it possible that the frog is defecating and you simply haven't seen any of it yet? I ask simply because it sounds like he is eating and there appear to be no external signs of trauma. If you're certain that s/he is not, then I would seek advice of qualified veterinarian ASAP to avoid losing animal.
