Yes they shed when growing and if their skin was too dry and they shed the dry layer when they become moist. Yes sometimes after they eat well they will burrow down for a day or two.

Should I expect a shed skin laying around like I do when my snakes shed or do the frogs usually eat it? Is there any signs a frog is going to shed? My snakes eyecaps become opaque about a week before shedding.
