Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone had any experience breeding these little frogs, i recently got a pair and the male is calling every night, they seemed to have settled in nicely and are eating crickets and fruitflies
I was curious as to what conditions would start them breeding or if anyone had any tips on how to get them breeding
any information would be a bonus... thank you
lesley
I have never kept this species, never mind bred them, but what I would do is throw them into a rain chamber and see what happens. I am not 100% sure, but I believe most, if not all Rhacophorids are foam nest builders, so provide branches and foliage for them to build on. They should over hang water.
If you are successful, please consider writing an article on this species for the Frog Forum's care series.
Hey Leslie, I've also never kept pictus but I could give you some info on Nyctixalus margaritifer if that would help get you started.
That would be brilliant would appreciate any information that would help
thanks
