Default My Fire Bellied Toad Setup

    Hi all

Finally got the rest of my goodies today, went straight to working on my FBT's tank. Below are pics of what I have so far. I have a few questions for those more experienced than myself.

    1. Is the coconut fiber slope too much? I did that so they could go up easier to the divider but was unsure if that would cause problems.
    2. Is it too crowded?
    3. The water side will be built right below level with the divider. I may put a turtle dock/lily pad (saw they do the same function) in there so they have someone to chill out on the water side as well. My question is, do you think they'll have trouble getting from one side to the other *after* I have the dock put on the water side? (On the land side, I have the coconut fiber almost to the top and a layer of rocks above that but still not sure how great they can climb/hop/get over.)

Any and all input are more than welcome (this tank will house either 2 or 3 FBT, I haven't decided yet.)

I would think they would be okay with the turtle dock. I have a tree in mine and yesterday Ricki was up in it looking for crickets. I didn't think she could get up there.

Either tonight, tomorrow or Sunday (all depends on when hubby gets home and when the store closes, lol.) Wanted to get a few opinions before I filled it with water and got them in there. Hoping I covered mostly everything!

It looks really good! After you get them in there I'd probably just observe them to make sure they can get from one side to the other and if they can't, make a few changes to make it easier.

I got a smaller dock and hooked it up (looked all over for a lilypad but nada here in town.) Got my 3 FBTs (gonna put up pics soon), they are already in it and moving all around from side to side no problem

It looks great! So long as they have something to swim up to to get out of the water they should be fine. The dock sounds perfect. The plant you have in there will help too .

    Oops, to answer your questions...

The coco fiber and slope are both fine. They are not burrowers and are good at hopping and swimming. They'll have no trouble at all climbing up .

Just saw your replies, yup, I learned real quick that little bit of height doesn't phase them in the slightest. They are champion jumpers!
