    Default Where to buy ACF?

Hey everyone! I did a search for a thread like this but couldn't find anything, so sorry if this has been posted before.
Since my male frog Astro had a stroke and passed I have been wanting to get a tank mate for my girl Olive. I would like to get a natural colored ACF, I don't care what kind of pattern/variation it is. I definitely want a bigger frog (adult sized) that she won't eat.
Does anyone know of any websites that can sell and ship frogs this size? Or maybe a website that can help me locate a breeder? I am in Northern Florida.
I see posts about folks getting lovely new frogs and I am envious. Where are you getting them?
Also Astro used to mate with Olive a lot so this time I'd like a female so she won't be bothered. She's been exploring her tank much more since Astro's been gone which makes me think she didn't like him very much (she would normally stay in her "house"). Maybe she needs a girlfriend to vent to. Can two girl frogs occupy the same tank?

    Thanks!

If you are looking for an adult I would recommend checking craigslist first. I've been seeing a lot of ads for unwanted ACFs lately so you may find some in your area too. For some reason I'm thinking that ACF are illegal to own in Florida? Anyone else heard of this? There are illegal to own in several states because they have been introduced to local waters and have wreaked havoc on wildlife. Not sure if this is the case in Florida.
It just might be something to consider if you are going to have a frog shipped to you.
Anyway, I've purchased adult frogs from xenopus express. Xenopus Express Products - Xenopus Suppliers
Shipping is expensive, that's the only draw back. The frogs I ordered, a piebald and two retics, were very beautiful and healthy.

As for keeping two females in a tank together, it is absolutely fine so long as they have enough space. Anything smaller than a 20 long would be cramped.

Whatever you decide, just make sure to quarantine the new frog for a month. You wouldn't want to pass any hidden illnesses on to Olive.

They aren't illegal in Florida; you can get albinos at petsmart but that's not what I'm looking for. I will check my local craigslist site.

    Thank you!

Keep an eye on the classifieds section here.
I agree with Craigslist - lots of ACF tend to pop up on there in my area.

You can ask your local pet store if they have the means of ordering any, I assume you want the wildtype.

You can always try Xenopus.com - pricey, but I have had good dealings with them in the past.

26 Gallon Bow - ACF tank.

20 Gallon Long - ACF tank.

Since you live in Florida, try Xenopus.com I've got a xenopus amieti from there. The owner is a nice guy. I'm sure they can help or even pick up perhaps if your close enough. That would save alot on shipping.
