Default Red eyed tree frog shedding?

I was just curious as to whether or not these little guys shed. My sister sent me a picture of Pepito today and he looked half white! He was sleeping up against the glass and he was not his usual bright color green. Once she shut the light off in his terrarium it went away and I sprayed him with distilled water just to be sure. Is it possibly him shedding (or getting ready to)? Or is it something to do with the light? I purchased one at the pet store and the brand is ReptiGlo (I think).
really worried about the little guy!

Yes, all frogs shed their skin, its called sloughing. I find it kinda gross to watch, they pull all the skin off their body into their mouth and swallow it. You will see them repeatedly opening their mouths during the process. There's videos on you tube if you care to see it.

I've never noticed any color change with any my frogs when they slough. So I cannot speak to if that is why his color changed or not.

I love the name you picked for your frog!!!! My red eye does this to changes to a milky white. i think it has to do with the lighting..one half of her will be white and the other half green where theirs not tons of light. i dont think its something to worry about tho ill let someone more experienced tell you if it is. Jewl's been doing it for a long time and it doesnt seem to cause or be a sign of any problems so i think your little Pepito is safe. but ill let someone with more experience then i determine that.

Thank you both very much for your help.
I loved the name when I first heard it too, it rolls right off the tongue. Plus it's Spanish and they are originally from Costa Rica Oepito seems much better today, no discoloration or anything so maybe it was just a fluke?

The only white ? on my red eyed tree frogs is the belly. According to their mood, red eyed tree frogs can become a dark green or reddish-brown color. In my enclosure this happens mostly at night ( in the dark) when they are feeding. They are a beautiful vivid green during the day when sleeping. Consider it RED FLAG if a red eyed tree frog remains dark and mottled , along w/ other changes in behavior ( ie like sleeping on the ground).
