Hi all,
I have a really silly question to ask. Got my divider in my 20 gallon tank for my fire bellies, half water, half land. I wanted to test the divider's strength, so we filled that side up with water (held overnight and still holding today!) I happened to notice, that's A LOT of water on one side. So I got to thinking. How much water *should* I have on that side? I really, really don't want to remove the divider (hubby had to use a hacksaw to cut it, he split so many pieces trying that I don't dare ask him to trim it again) but I wasn't sure how adept these types of toads are to climbing in/out of the water area if I have it too low.
So my questions are:
1. Is filling it up entirely too high?
2. If so, how high should I put it up (inches wise)?
3. Should I put a turtle dock or something else in off the divider so they have an easier way to get from one side to the other?
I'm going to have the other side with coconut fiber low at first and climb at a hill-like angle. That way it will be flush with the top of the divider. So either they'll have a drop off on the other side or the water will be that high. Hope this makes sense, once I went to typing I got a bit...finger-tied.
(For reference on how high the divider is vs. the height of the tank which is 12 inches.)
