    Default Some new frogs.

Hey guys, I went to the taylor show again today and I got another pacman, a little albino. It's already settling in well, it ate a couple of small dubia's.. hasn't really dug or moved much, but he seems alright. Here's a pic..

Just have a quick question about him, will a Regular (red) heat bulb or night (purpleish) heat bulb bother his eyes?

Now when I went to this show I planned on getting a Pacman and possibly a Crested/Gargoyle Gecko or a Bearded Dragon.. but then I saw these guys. CBB Tomato Frogs. I bought two for $20 a piece. They're about the size of a nickel, if not smaller.

As much as I'd like to get a different Herp.. I have a feeling I'll be bringing frogs home with me no matter what. They're hard to refuse.. next on the list is Darts.

The blue or red bulbs shouldn't bother the frog at all as long as the wattage is 40 or lower or has a dimmer to cut it down.

Would 50 watt be OK? That's what I have on it now.. no dimmer switch. I plan on gettin one with a dimmer sometime soon, I really shouldn't even be needing a light but these last couple days it's been cool in Michigan.

Haha, yeah I totally agree with you. I've been wanting a bearded dragon for a while now, but I'll betcha that I'll get many more frogs before getting a bearded dragon. It's just the nature of us frog people. Personally I'll take an amphibian pet before any other animals.

Namio, we have all kinds of critters!! We are not limited to just the amphibians. We had mostly reptiles before we did the frogs. I even have sugar gliders!!
Plke, the 50 should be fine for a while!

You know growing up I never had frogs as a pet.. I had chameleons, horny toads/lizards, parrots, always had a lot of pets and I also had a sugar glider at one point, Ivory.. but I was young and not really prepared to care for it and my parents didn't tend to help with pets at all. I feel the frogs I have now are only the first of many. A slight addiction is sinking in I think.
