Default Semi-Impulse Buy! White's tree frog....

So, since getting back into frog keeping with my two teenage (I suppose that's where they're at right now) RETFs, I've been wanting to get either 2 Gray Tree Frogs or 1 White's. Was leaning toward Grays because they don't need heat. But today I got bored and drove over to East Bay Vivarium. They had a cute little baby White's and I could not resist. Fired up the extra heat lamp and awayyy we go!!

Will post pics later tonight maybe. S/he is sleeping soundly on a comfy leaf. Thinking of naming him/her Aubrey Huff, in honor one of my favorite SF Giants who just went on the DL for the third (!) time this season. (Grieving in my own way, lol.) So if it's a girl, Aubrey will be a pretty name, if it's a boy Huff will be boyish enough. Unless I think of something better in the meantime.

I blame all of you White's keepers for raving about how cool they are.

They are very cool! I would love to see pictures! I just got one myself and I'm almost positive it's a female. I'll have to look into that!

Lol! I agree . That's like going to the candy store with a pocket full of quarters on an empty stomach . Or, at least, for us frog people anyway ! I love it! Congrats!

Thanks for busting me, I so deserve it, lol. Right now s/he is in the smaller tank I intended for the Greys, 12x12x18. Once I finish the larger tank, I can switcheroo and still get Greys ;-)

I don't feel TOO guilty I guess, hehe. Just need to get this heat thing sorted out. The woman at the store said it is safe to use a "basking" light but I don't agree. Right now I'm just combining a white CFL with a blue heat bulb. Doing the trick, but I'd like to find a daylight bulb I can use for heat.

I should write a review of East Bay Vivarium-- you know, for a specialty shop, they could really do a lot better. They actually gave me a generalized "Amphibian Care Sheet." Can you believe that?!

Will try to take pics today.

S/He is still hiding a lot and gets a bit nervous when I approach the tank still. Here S/He is on her/his sleeping spot.

Not sure if you can tell the size, but it's a large anthurium leaf and flower. Still quite small, maybe 1.5 inch, haven't tried to measure yet.

Another photo, this was the best I could do. S/he hides a lot, poor little thing. I've taken to covering ALL sides of the tank so s/he can relax a bit more. Still no name!

Haha I'm a BIG Giants fan, too! I love your naming scheme. You have too many options with boy names... haha... Lou (the Seal), Freddie (Sanchez), Madison/Maddy, or Buster would sound pretty cool, too. Your frog looks awesome!
