    Default Question about spring water

    Hiya,

I'm a new owner of two lovely Oriental Fire Bellied Toads. They're all set up and seem settled. I've been setting water from the tap aside to make sure it's dechlorinated before I use it in their pond. I live in Malvern, very famous for it's spring water and have a spring right outide my flat. I've read bottled spring is good to use but does anyone know if the natural stuff would be just as safe. I'm not sure if bottled is treated before it gets to me. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks
    Kate

Spring water from a free flowing water source can contain things we don't want in our tanks. The bottle water is filtered prior to bottling.
You can collect the water and filter it yourself but I don't have a good suggestion for naturally filtering the water before use.

Remember, you want to keep the natural minerals that comes from your tap water.

If your not using a dechlorinator, make sure your water was treated with chlorine and not a chlorine substitute since airing out tap water that has a chlorine substitute will not remove the additive.
