new to owning a frog

So I've recently inherited a frog, its a long story but now I have one. The bulb I was using to heat the tank burnt out so I ran to thee store and bought a 75w infrared heat lamp bulb, I didn't realize how different the bulb was till I plugged it in and it got dark. It keeps the tank lit up with a red light. So my questions are, did I get a good bulb for leaf(frogs name), should I keep it on 24/7, and is there any advise anyone can share for new frog owners. Also on a side note, he has what some googling has lead me to diagnose as "fog eye" in one of his eyes, what should I do about this, and with him having this does that mean he is blind in that eye?
