I suppose it's a possibility for any excreting animal. Hopefully it will pass quickly.
I'm sure he'll forget and it will be a thing of the past once the treatments are done and over with. Except maybe the sight of a needle.
Doing the injections from behind where he does not realize you are the shot giver, may help? Just like with children. Then you get to be the good guy who saves him from the needle.
