Been a while since I posted, but I wanted to put this out there in case anyone could help. This is not my frog, I just saw the posting on craigslist. This person is moving and trying to sell their ACF and set up for $125 (way overpriced IMO). The frog in the photo is so emaciated that I didn't think it was alive at first. I don't see body fat anywhere, his legs are all bone and even his head looks skeletal. I emailed the seller last night to let them know my concern. I tried my best to handle the situation delicately, because I know that people can be defensive about their pet care. I offered some feeding advice and told them that if he wanted to give the frog to an experienced home that I would be willing to adopt it sans $125 set up. I haven't heard back and I don't really expect to, but perhaps the seller would be more motivated to reply to someone that was interested in buying the frog. There probably isn't much that we can do, but I'm posting this on the off chance that someone wants to make an effort to contact the guy (whether to buy or to let him know the frog is starving).
It's so sad to see a beautiful frog in such a poor state. I had to spoil my guys with feeder guppies today to make myself feel better.
African Albino clawed frog with complete set up for adoption
This is sad.. how hard is it to throw in some acceptable food for this frog? Pellet food costs about the same as fish food if not less than most brands..
That is awful.
I sent them an email offering to take it if they will go in on me for shipping.
Told them I only want the frog and they can still sell the set up as a fish tank which would probably get more responses than a frog tank.

What an idiot, " a whole bunch of different types of food.. Good for the next 5 years.." How about giving him some of it! Love the setup too, maybe the frog will get out of the water and get his own food.
Poor frog.
ACFs are so easy and fun to feed, I don't understand why that owner has such a skinny Xenopus. Go to a supermarket and spend 3 bucks you can get a huge beef heart that's good for a month worth of food... it is very frustrating seeing a poor frog gets starve like that.
Sadly they haven't replied to my emails. Here's hoping for this little guy gets an amazing home....
the link is going to be breaking soon as they renew the posting, here's a picture of the little guy for anyone who stumbles upon this thread.
