I live right in the city of Chicago about 2.5 miles from the lake. We are expecting a HUGE storm to hit any minute, yah us! I was outside tying up my garden plants and the locusts are singing in the trees but I also hear what sounds like a....green tree frog? Is that possible right in the city. I mean we do get coyotes, deer and the occasional mountain lion so I guess a frog isn't totally out of the question but is it? I tried to get my boyfriend to hear it but of course just as my Whites do, they quiet down he tries to listen! Has anyone else encountered a wild frog in a big city?
I live in an extremely suburban area with no country nearby for about 10 miles, but just a few weeks ago at our local park I was rummaging under rocks in the creek looking for fossils and I saw a few frog eggs. This amazed me because I have not seen any frogs in that park for at least 5 years.
That's so cool. I haven't seen the frog, but it sure sounded like it was. It was probably just a bird LOL!
It is very possible for frogs to live in a big city.
