    Default Transporting White's Tree Frogs

I am pretty new to frog ownership, and am loving it. I am, however, moving to Pittsburgh from Baltimore sometime in the next few weeks. I am taking my White's with me, and am curious about the best way to transport her. We are driving, so its about a 5 hour trip. I'm trying to do this with as no injury and as little stress for her as possible.

She's in a 12x12x18 glass exoterra terrarium. Exo Terra : Products : Glass Terrarium

    What are your recommendations?

    Thanks!

    Hello

I have a small plastic container with vents and handle on that i have used for transportation(its just easier to carry and to see them in it) with a little place to hide too. I also use a hot water bottle to keep heat up, but you may need to keep an eye on this. Also bring a spray bottle. I have only used this method for about an hour 1/2 though but I have a whites too and it survived a 3 hour car ride and a 2 hour boat journey to get to me so i am sure she will be fine. Ive learnt they can be hardy at times. Good Luck.

Get yourself a styroform box or cooler. Put the frog in a smaller container within the the styroform box. Also put a bottle of warm water in the box to maintain temperature. Monitor conditions along the way. I have managed to get animals home for Hamburg, PA safely this way.

Thank you! I have a cooler and intend to get a small carrier.

Should I put anything in the container with her? Any substrate? any plants? water?

I know I need to keep the temperature and the humidity up, but anything else I need to worry about?

And I should keep the cooler closed? So shes in the dark most of the day?
