A bin containing pin-head and very small crickets is difficult to clean.
I keep spare bins for this. When I make a bin change I let the crickets crawl into an empty paper towel tube or onto an cardboard egg carton; then shake them into the clean container. This transfer takes a while , but will reduce squishing crickets accidentally. Yuck ! A dirty crickets container, does, smells terrible.

Crickets smell terrible all the time!!! I cultured some once and WOW!! What an odor. Lol! I did enjoy doing so though, but I love all animals even insects and aracnids.

I can't stand that smell... Switched to Dubia roaches 3 years ago and still can't get that smell out of my head!
