Default I finally got my toad!! meet Monster

I'm a major first timer so I only got one for now but here he is I named him Monster

I didn't keep him in that tiny tank you see him in that was only temporary. It was very late when I got home and I was too tired to get him set up in the 10 gal so I kept him in the 2 gal over night. He's now in a 10 gal tank!

    Some questions that I have..

He's doing fine alone do I absolutely have to get him a buddy or will he still get depressed?
How often do I have to feed him? I'm being told 2 different things..
I was first told 3 small crickets 3 times a week and then i was told 5 large crickets everyday..

My room upstairs gets very hot and I have the heater set to 75 degrees but it never kicks on because the temperature on the thermometer is always telling me it's 80 degrees is that too hot? if so what can I do to cool it off?

Is it true they can choke on aquarium gravel? >.>

    I currently have:
    Heater
    Filter
    Aquarium gravel for substrate
A log fish decor for an island (i'll be getting a bigger one this weekend)

What else could I get him to make him comfortable?

Sorry for all of the questions I'm just really excited and nervous at the same time >.<

Oh yes what I was going to do is make an island area and have the land slope downward into a water area . Then I would put maybe a rock or something in the water and maybe a little hidey log on the island. I'm not 100% sure what I'm doing with the tank yet but I am looking at photos of other tanks and putting my imagination to work lol. Monster ended up coming to me a bit too soon but I am keeping him comfortable while I organize everything the way I want it .

Lol yeah i'm really not that crafty xD i don't want to have to divide the tank. What I've thought about doing is getting maybe a ceramic or plastic dog bowl and putting it as like a little "pool" then putting substrate around it. Like an in-ground pool

Very nice, how old is he? Yes they can choke one graver but I feed them is the water so they don't choke. Good luck

I would remove the gravel and either leave it bare bottom or use river rocks. I used to have mine in a 10 gallon with substrate and a buried bowl "pool" like you described and they liked it but getting the water out every day to change it was a pain. I switched it over to an all water tank with some rocks for them to climb out on and they really didn't do much. I have since went back to 1/2 water 1/2 land and they love it. They are so much more active and it makes feeding a LOT easier. Although one of mine will sit in the water and wait for the crickets to fall in instead of chasing them like the rest, lol.

I have smaller aquarium gravel right at the bottom of my tank, then a layer of bigger gravel on top of that at the land end, then a layer of even bigger river rocks on top of THAT so it still looks rocky, but the frogs can't really get at the small pieces. Do want more river rocks on top though, to doubly make sure none of the smaller pieces are visible/accessible.

EDIT: By the way, your FBT looks adorable

He's doing good and I really don't know how old he is. I'm wanting to do a half water and half land terrarium i'm just trying to figure out how to do it without actually gluing a divider in there.

yeah this is what i'm thinking about doing then adding some moss or something on top of that and making like layers. I actually took the log that's in there right now and tilted it so he can come completely out of the water or be half in half out etc. he seems to enjoy the fake plants on the log more than the actual log though lol

I just took a video that I sound incredibly stupid in but you'll be able to see what I'm dealing with. I really didn't want anyone to see my tank until it was completed and not hideous like it is now, but maybe you'll be able to give me some helpful tips on how to make it look nice The pink coral looking thing that you see in it will not be staying..it's just there to prop the log up.
