a ten gallon is a little small in my opinion for a full grown male. I think the 16.5 will be good but sterlite is hard to regulate temp. I would suggest a 20 gallon tank if you can get one for cheap but if you go with a sterilite than I would keep a close eye on the temps and humidity
I think he or she is wanting to know not the gallons but the actual dimensions if you were to measure only the length and width of the tank, excluding height. 10 gallons is supposed to be fine for an adult male, though, to address your reply. Now to address the OP's question, I'll have to go measure my tank--though my current one is only 5.5 gallons.
