Well, I think it's a neat one at least. I've kept a wide variety of herps over the years, but this is my first Ceratophrys. I just couldn't pass up this individual since I thought the diffused pattern borders were somewhat unique (or maybe they're pretty common and I just haven't seen them). Regardless, I'm excited to see how this one looks as an adult.
Nice looking Green Apple and yes that is what you have. C. Cranwelli X C. Joazeirensis. Its a hybrid Pacman. I must warn you that these hybrids are prone to health issues as the grow and mature, but I'm hoping to see some true healthy ones pull through. I can see that yours has just barely gotten by with out getting a bad case of Scoliosis judging by the slight curvature of the lower spine by the vent. Very minor for yours, but is common in these hybrids. Other than that your Apple looks good.
Well that's a bummer. I just searched through the forum to get some more background on these "green apples." The rest of the frogs from the dealer I got mine from looked like typical cranwelli so I thought this was just an oddball. I guess I'll just hope for the best as it grows and see what happens.
Great looking Pac..
Love the color and pattern.
It could be a samurai blue cross also. Doesn't have all the green apple looks to it. Has the same pattern as some of my blue x green colors
Amazing frogs as usual Mike!
