Hey everyone... I'm in need of a little advise. I have a teeny toadlet (see pic to left) and he is thriving and doing well. However, I have a flightless fruit fly culture in the tank with him and they seem to be getting out of the darn thing somehow. I open it and let a few out (I don't want the tank crawling with 100s of them) and every now and then, I find one or two on the outside of the tank.
I have a screen lid, which I've covered with both tulle and some nylons... how the heck are they still escaping? LOL
Any help is appreciated![]()
Not sure what size tank you have them in, but find yourself the biggest pair of panty hose, cut the legs off 12 inch below the crotch & tie off the leg holes. The waist part will stretch pretty far and makes a tight seal around the container (if it's small enough). You can also start to feed the toads extra small red runner roaches. They LOVE them, and they can't climb smooth walls either.

I have a small 10 gallon and the 4x pantyhose fit perfectly snug... thanks so much Gail. Hoping these little critters stay in the tank now for Herbie to feastHe's got the cutest little pudgy belly! LOL
You're welcome. I've had lots of experience raising tads to toads with great success!! I LOVE me some toads!!
