Smile just adopted 3 WTF's from my friend

Hi. Just brought home 3 WTF's. My kids fell in love with them while we were babysitting, and she was looking to find them a new home. New to frogs, but have done a bunch of reasearch on the needs of these frogs.( I have a beardie- so I know more about lizards than frogs). Even after all of the research I have done, these frogs are doing things I didnt read about and want to make sure I am doing everything right, so here I am

Welcome! I am also a new fairly new owner of Whites Tree Frogs. I've had Fiona and Shrek for almost 2 months now. Never had any amphibian or reptile before (I also have 2 leopard geckos), I am learning everyday from them. You've come to the right place for info, everyone here is very helpful.

    What are your frogs doing?

Well last night after i fed them their crickets, the largest one started to do this gagging thing, and I thought he was choking, but after reading i realized he was just trying to shed his "slime"coat. I am so worried about impaction that every little move they made after eating I was looking up. I have eco earth as my substrate but they seem to get a lot of this with their crickets and this concerns me. They are all adults (smallest is 3 1/2 in largest is about 5in) and all adjusted to their new home very fast.

nightcrawlers work like a charm. smooth, wiggly, and nutritious. go to walmart in the fishing/ sport department and look for a little refrigerator. they will have canadian nightcrawlers. open the container up and make sure it smells earthy. (sometimes worms can be scented) wash them off when you get home with dechlorinated water and offer them to your frogs. you may have to wiggle them around a bit to look more appealing

I too was worried about impaction and eco earth. If you put the crickets in a glass bowl they can't climb out of it. I didn't believe it but it works! At first I had a bowl with a high side then switched to a short sideded kidney shaped bowl from the pet store and they still can't get out if it. Sometimes a cricket will get loose when I dump them in and the frogs get a mouthful of substrate but they are pretty good at pulling most of it out of their mouth.

2 of them will not eat anything but crickets. They are all a few years old and they were raised on them. Oi Oi (the big boy) might like them tho, he eats anything. I am going to keep trying to introduce worms to them as I always have them on hand for my beardie.(phoenix worms, wax worms, superworms) Thanks for the tip with the glass bowl I will try this!
