Hi, not sure what species we are talking about but most will be OK for longer than you would expect without food. Also some will take woodlice, not sure where you are in the UK and snow is on its way but might be worth a quick search in the garden to calm your fears!
Thats an idea, i will definatly remember that one. Yeah this weather is madness! Not sure if i will find anything. I am in northern ireland and its -5 with me at the mo. So its ok to feed them bugs from the garden? Do you recomend cleaning them first or put them straight in there? lol
It depends, if you have frogs in your area disease might be an issue, large areas of the UK seem to have few and most will have been in hibernation a while. I know wild caught food can be a vector for disease but I kept a cane toad for 23 years with at least 25% of its food comming from my garden. Just be sure no pesticides are being used in the area, try to clean off loose soil and offer small stuff.
Thats good to know, thanks. Next time im running out, il have a look in the garden then.
