I know about creating a false bottom, but how would take work if I plan to make a "pool" of some sort?

Well for my bumble bee walking toads I used a piece of cork to separate my "pond" from the rest of the land and I have a stream that runs into it, hard to explain cant think of the right wording. I know in the pic its kinda hard to see but check it out
