Hey everyone,
This weekend I was at my friends house and we went to go herping in some woods behind his house but before we left we walked by his pool and there were tadpoles EVERYWERE!!!!!! I bet there was at least 5-6 thousand in there. We couldn't find any adult frogs near by but I'm assuming they're Grey Tree Frogs but I can't be sure because I live in central Ohio and I don't know if they are this far north. So I took about 15 and put them in a container and I'm going to go back and get more and put them in a 10 gallon but I need a care sheet on caring for tadpoles, and I was wandering can you keep gray tree frogs with american green tree frogs?
Thanks for the help,
Eric![]()
According to Ohio's Frog and Toad Species you have both Gray treefrogs and Cope's Gray treefrogs in Ohio. Both can be found in parts of Canada as well.
Care sheet for all life stages: Frog Forum - Gray Tree Frog Care and Breeding
It's generally not recommended to house different species together. However, I have heard of more than one person with long term success with Gray Treefrogs and American Green Treefrogs in a communal tank, but I have no experience with this. I do keep both species, but separately. To me there's no point in taking any risks when I can just build another tank.
Im curious what you plan on doing with that many frogs once they morph?
