Here is a link on how to raise Dubia roaches. They are fairly simple to breed.

its going to take you a month-two at least to successfully colonize them. I have had mine for three weeks and I havent taken any from the colony yet. I started out with 135 mixed adults and juvenile (cost was $40).
when you start your colony do not take any females out. they live up to a year and they should be your queens of the colony. tip: make sure there are 3 females for every male. If you find yourself with a lot of males than feed those ones to your frogs. too many males will have a fight to the death and stress out the colony.
you will need a heat lamp because the temp should preferably be at 90 degrees for them to breed rapidly. I have a 125 watt about a foot above the open colony. I do not have a lid on the colony because my blaptica dubias cannot climb smooth plastic surfaces.
I find that mine do not care for water crystals so I buy carrots, apples, and potatoes for their water source and change it every two days when the fruits dries out. I also feed them cat food and tetra fish flakes.
thats the kind I use. I have gone through three bottles of it between my roaches and crickets. I never see the roaches on the crystals, just the fruit. Id rather stick to fruit anyways since it is healthier for them. I tried throwing an orange in there yesterday and I havent seen it nibbled onyet
I use those as a treat but they are a little too pricey. Id rather buy a huge watermelon that will last longer than a week.
The biggest thing is heat! They will not produce as much if they are cold!!!!!!
Both my Hissers and Dubias both love the water crystals. Your's must be weird arielgasca420, lol!!!
Ive had my strawberries for 6 years and they didnt make it through CA 105 degree weather this year.
I think because i spoil my roaches they dont go for the water crystals. It would be like offering a kid water or soda and then asking them to choose one.
Spoiled roaches...such a funny thought for "outsiders"!!! My hisser's flock to it every time I put new water gel in for them.
Mine love the water gel too. They love oranges best though.

My roaches also like the water gel too. I go through water gel crystals like crazy. I have to add more every 2 days.
man you americans are lucky up here in Canuckville we are not allowed to have roach colonies unless you are part of a zoo or for educational purposes. i so want a dubia colony for my 2 pacmans and my Panther Chameleon when he gets bigger. i hate crickets so much.
My dubias go absolutely crazy for that Repashy Bugburger stuff, they love it!
