I was feeding my toad nightcrawlers tonight. I use EcoEarth in his tank but I usually lay out a damp paper towel as a "place mat" because the worms are sticky and get covered in EcoEarth and I don't want him to eat too much of it (I know it can be digested though). Well this nightcrawler was pretty big and he had to wrestle with it for a little while. He ended up moving off the paper towel and when he chomped his way down to the end of the worm he got a large mouthful of EcoEarth and proceeded to swallow all of it.
Should I be worried or will it just pass through him? He goes to the bathroom in his water dish almost daily so I know his digestive system is working great.
He should be just fine. Eco-Earth is digestible and will pass right through.
