Anyone out there ever have an anthonyi tad morph out in approx. 35 days? I had 6 tads hatch out of their eggs on 6/14 and they were put into their communal aquarium. Last night I saw one with all 4 legs swimming to the top of the water to eat/breath. I pulled it and put it in a morph out container, but I was amazed at how fast it morphed. In my experience with other darts, the ones that morph too fast or too slow never seem to thrive so my expectations for this one are pretty low. I have finally had some good success with this morph on my last clutch and I have about 15 more tads in the water and another clutch of eggs developing so hopefully things will go well. Just wondering if anyone else has had a tad morph this quickly that actually ended up being healthy...
In my experience, certain types of tads morph quicker than others. This is in addition to what you have already observed (that sometimes, when they morph quickly, they seem weaker than their brethren and fail to thrive as a result). Auratus are the fastest in my experience, followed by galacts, followed by tincs, followed by most thumbnails. What you are observing may or may not be cause for concern, hopefully not...
