Green Light

Hey everyone I was wondering if I can use a green light at night so I can still see the frog without him knowing there is a light shining. I have heard a lot of people say blue is the best, but will green cause him to stay hidden? I already bought the green bulb, so hopefully I'll be able to use it. Thanks!

I believe green would be to bright. Red or a moonlight bulbs would be more realistic.
You can always try it and if they retreat to becoming inactive then remove the lighting.

When adding a new light, monitor heat and humidity so the tank is not overheated or the humidity doesn't drop to low.

I heard frogs cannot see red or blue wavelengths. I wouldnt use the bulbs that are colored that you get from home depot (party bulbs). You need to get a low watt nocturnal bulb. I would only turn it on when you want to look at your frog because keeping it on all night may cause too much heat. get the lowest watt you can find at a pet store.

Frogs see red and blue lighting but these colors usually are subdued and more similar to a moonlight that they are not threatening. You will find with some frogs, I find this especially with RETFs, that the frog will retreat and become inactive when any color lighting is added.

My WTFs loved the red 15 watt night bulb and would pile on each other to get the best spot under it, but rarely whet near the blue moonlight lamp or the blacklight bulbs.

I haven't really tried it yet because I am out of town and my dad is taking care of my frog currently. But one night I turned it on and he kinda seemed to carry on with his activities but in a sort of restricted manner. I'll try when I get back!
