I would keep him on moist paper towels for the time being - change them every 2-3 days (or sooner if he defecates). You can try administering some triple antibiotic to the skin (don't need much, just a film). He will in all likelihood rub most of it off but it should help. I honestly think the burn is bad enough to make the frog unlikely to survive. If you know of an amphibian-savvy veterinarian then I would take him. Some vets will treat native "wild" animals for free but it could cost you a pretty penny.

Oh and give him something to hide under/in when in the temporary enclosure with the paper towels.

Our frog seems to be getting better. He is completely healed on his belly but he does still have a lump on his hind leg that concerns us. it does not seem to be slowing him down. He became active and began eating again a couple of days ago.
It looked real bad for a time. Every day we prepared ourselves for the worst. I think the only thing that saved him was the fact that he was overweight. We put a paper towel on his perch and put a light coat of tripleantibiotic on the towel instead of on him directly, he laid on it most of the time and moved very little. We covered the rest of the cage with towels so he had nothing to hurt himself on. One day we checked in on him and a couple of larger crickets were chewing at the sore on his leg, we removed the larger crickets and only kept a few small in with him.
Thank You John for sharing your knowledge with us.
i would have a vet look at the bump if it does not go down, especially more since the crickets were messing with it. (i just read your entire threead and im glad your frog is doing better)
Glad to hear things are turning out well.

Nice to see the frog recovering.
I would like to ask you Frogboy on how you healed your frog from the burn.
My whites tree frog got burnt, but its a widespread burn. My mom was incharge of taking care of my frogs and ended up killing one and leaving two injuried. One just a little burn acting like himself but the other is really bad...
do you have any tips?
or does anyone eles?
I would post a new thread as well, but im not to sure how too...
my other frog would be so sad if he passed away, those two are impossible to sperate.
All I can say without a vet looking into it, is keep every thing nice and clean to prevent infection. Your substrate through the healing process should be moist paper towels, which should be cleaned as soon as they are soiled.
How did this happen? Was boiling water poured on them?
I'm sorry for you and especially for the poor little guy =( but I'm still wondering how this could have happened that it was your mom's fault? Did she let them watch her cooking or take them to the solarium?
When I've bought one of my frogs there was one with some kind of huge ulcer on his whole lower back (looked a bit like a skeleton, difficult to describe) and I was like WHAT THE..? and the sales person told me "ah, he probably got burnt a bit" (yeah, a BIT - and yes, they're stupid, they got the bulbs inside the tank without any protection). so there might be a chance your frog will make it.
I think we got lucky. We are thankful for good information and people who care. We mainly tried to take out of the cage anything he could hurt himself on, keep him moist, and take out the larger crickets. The tripleantibiotic probably helped. We put it on a damp paper towel and placed it where he liked to perch and let him lay in it. Afew days after the burn he got very sick and a few times we thought he had died, we touched and handled him as little as possible. I wish I could help. I know how much our frog means to us and I can see how much you love yours. All the best.
