Ok so I went to petco day before yesterday and got crickets for my gray tree frog. When I got home I noticed the bag smelled like the cologne the guy who got the crickets was wearing. I put them in the cricket keeper, fed my frog rinsed the bag thinking I would keep it for when I dust the crickets. Well after the bag dried it still smelled like colone (inside and out) and my frog is acting very quiet and hiding. Just in the last week she has been moving arround climbing and croaking because she was hurt (if you remember Bella). Is there a posiblity this has made her sick or am I adding 2+2 and comming up with 5?
Cologne could kill your frog. If something doesn't smell right never feed it to your frog. Watch her carefully.
People wearing cologne and perfume make me mad. Not natural at all and they're just putting harmful chemicals on their body. The guy at Petco was probably a random doofus who doesn't love animals and just got a job there cuz he needed money.
I'd watch your frog carefully for another day or two and if the behavior persists, take her to a herp vet immediately. There might not be one immediately close to you and it will probably be expensive, but you'll have to do it if you want your frog to not die of poisoning.
Thanks for the replies. She seems to be acting ok last night and today. If you hear loud thunder in the next few days it will be me at petco! GRRRRR!!
I dont even buy or wear much perfume or skin stuff because of my frogs, unless I am going out. I am also careful of cleaning products and sprays, and even people who are going to be caring for my frogs, i tell them to wash there hands watch what they use ect.. these petco, store chain people well some of them.. are really morons arent they??Jeeze you hear some real bad stories of tanks being crowded, people being stupid. glad i order it all off the internet now.Hope your frogs ok
