Could someone enlighten me on exactly what they are? I did a little searching on here and have found that Samurai is just a name for the line of genetics that someone has produced; much like a Kahl or Sharp albino (if anyone knows snakes?)? And have someone on another forum questioning the genetics and what exactly makes a Samurai. So, what makes a Samurai?
Samurai is a genetic line. Just like bob clark, kahl ect. Samurai have worked on a few different color morphs that stand out in color and pattern when compaired to other cranwelli.
If you put a samurai apricot next to a frog ranch apricot you will see that the samurai apricot is much more colorful and brighter. Samurai apricots are 75.00 and up. Frog ranch apricots are 40.00 and under. Frog ranch apricots are the walmart version of apricots.
Their is genetic flaws with samurai also. You will only notice that with seeing a number of them.
Samurai also are not strong breeders. That is why no one in the usa mass produces them.
Mike would be your best bet for info on the details.
But basically, yes.....Samurai is a genetic line that Samurai has been working on for some time.
Okay, so my next question: Can a pacman be "het Samurai"?
Yes in a way. I don't breed samurai together because of the low spawn counts. When you cross samurai with normal type cranwelli lines the samurai colors mix with the normal lines and you get odd looking morphs. Albinos crossed with samurai produce the most unique colored animals.
Many people think of hets in the way of snakes. Hets for frogs don't act the same way. Its usually a combination in the genes.
Ahhh....I see. Thanks for clearing that up!![]()
Samurai lines are the only pacs I own. Im a bit of a pac snob though
