If your room temperature is between 70 - 75, then you can pick up a Reveal 6500K Daylight compact florescent bulb (I believe 13 watts is more than enough ) for about 5 dollars. They provide plenty of light with a lot less heat than an incandescent bulb and are also good for live plants.
The higher the light is off the tank the less heat is generated inside the tank. The closer you put it the warn the tank will get.
