Most vets will let you drop off a fecal sample and they'll examine it for a small fee (varies depending on what type of test method they use and whether they do it in house or have to send it out). I would call around and see who is willing to do that. Keep us posted.

Last night I was playing musical tanks in the reptile room, so in addition to getting new bedding and a tank cleaning, Trevor got an upgrade to a larger tank too. As of this morning she seems pretty happy, and I haven't seen her pupils acting funny since yesterday.

Looking at the new coco-fiber compared to the last batch I got, I'm wondering if maybe something could have been off about the batch of eco-earth. I remember posting about finding a lot of rocks in that bag, and compared to the new stuff the color is really off. It's almost black, and now I realize it has a kind of 'off' smell. Not like tank-needs-cleaning sort of off, just something a little different about it. Thinking back, the first thing I did when I got home before leaving to move again was to do a tank change, and about three weeks ago was when I first noticed her acting a little different. Fingers crossed that that was the cause of it!

Also, started using Prime-treated tap water for her.

She ate three roaches tonight, but only after I pushed the edge of their shells into her mouth like I would a credit card for a force feed. On the third one she took it right off though, so I'm thinking she finally figured it out. I think something is still a little off about her vision, but I'm thinking this is a step in the right direction at least.

I'll see if I can get a picture from my phone that is decent enough to actually see anything. The bloating thing seemed to go away after last night's soak. Other than that, she looks completely normal except when her pupils are blown. I'll try and catch that happening again.

UGH, I had asked on a separate frog forum about that when I first got Trevor, and was told spring water was fine to use. I can't believe I've been using something that could harm her all this time. Prime water purifier should be fine, right? It's pretty high quality, and works great for fish.
    I've never used distilled.

I think it's probably too far away to be causing the problem though if it doesn't go much further than 12 inches... I might rearrange the angle of turtle's light just out of paranoia though.
I'm hoping that a tank cleaning might improve things.
I've never used bleach to clean, only vinegar.
No spring water is spring water, it comes from a spring and I have known lots of frog users that have used it with success and its fine. In fact it may be better than tap water depending on the quality of your tap water. SOme tap water is no good and ifg you use a water softener then you probably dont want to use tap water either, I dont know for sure, I wouldnt.

Well, it's good to know I haven't been poisoning her. She seems to be be doing well with tap water treated with Prime as well.
