Although the spectral requirements for amphibians are largely unknown, most literature recommends the use of ultraviolet lighting in amphibian husbandry. In general's amphibians prefer subdued lighting. Nutritional secondary hyperparathyroidism is not uncommon in captive amphibians, however many cases may stem more from dietary imbalances than UV light deficiency
These frogs only benefit from 4 to 6 hours of UVB Radiation, over exposure to such lights has been known to cause blindness in Albino Pacman Frogs and in the regular morphs as well Feel free to discuss with some breeders if you'd like. These are nocturnal frogs the burrow down in the leaf litter and soil in the rainforest and Tropical Grass lands. They do not get exposed to much UVB Radiation naturally due to the sunlight being filtered through all the plant life.

If you insist on saying that these lights are fine for the frog then you can at least recommend that they provide adequate cover for the frog to escape the light as they naturally do. They don't even need a light if the room they're in provides enough ambient light for a day night cycle. Most fluorescent lights only have a range of 12" or slightly more to assist plant growth depending on the plants that are being grown. If the light is a 6500 fluorescent bulb then it is quite good at providing plants with the necessary light they need for good growth, but can be too night if positioned too close to the frog and where it burrow..

UVB of course being used for the bodies creation of Vitamin D3 which is used by the body to properly metabolize calcium to bone. It can build up in the frogs system and causing D3 Toxicity leading to death if exposure persists. UVB is not necessary due to supplementation through some multivitamins and calcium powders.

You must be careful when selecting a light source for your Pacman to prevent any harm accidentally. The frogs life is more important than a planted Terrarium.

Would this type of fixture and bulb be ok? It is a T5 and gives off 25 mircowatts UVB.

No. you would want the lowest possible UVB output. See about the Exo-Terra Repti-Glo 2.0 I believe it has very low UVB output and works for plants because its a 6500 CFL. Provide as much cover as possible to be safe.

Indeed, the repti-glo 2.0's from Exo-Terra have a high light output but low radation, with the necessary cover (plants, hollow log, flower pot) they're ideal lamps for any kind of Ceratrophys.

As for the orginal question, live moss and pothos are fine (allthough this stil gets rooted from time to time), just make sure you have an extra shelter (see above) and that the substrate is about 3 to 5 cms (and upwards depending on the frog's size), so they can dig in.

I hope nothing got lost in translation :-)
