It has been over 10 years since I had cranwells, but it appears a lot has changed. I just want an opinion on what I should get to start my collection. There are some CB brown Cornuta, Cb Caatinga which are the front runners, but I have seen some amazing morphs that have blown me away. What would you guys pick and why? Thank you!
Well Bowser its more for personal preference. Some are harder to care for than others not by means of housing and climate, but some can be picky eaters or more delicate. I've never had a Cornuta just learn from those who have experience with this species and research.
Cornutas are very majestic looking and tend to like higher humidity levels than the rest of the Ceratophrys species. I've never owned a Caatinga C. Joezeirensis, but I'm getting one the beginning of next month. I really like the phase that is Brown with very bright stripes. They are supposed to be more active than other species by Pacman standards. These are also not always easy to come by, but I guess you can say that about C. Cornuta as well.
I've already told you my choice so the rest is up to you.
Welcome back to the hobby and Welcome to Frog Forum.![]()
Thanks buddy!
You're welcome.
I have had cornuta before, never had a Caatinga, or seen any of these new "morphs".. The cornuta I had was WC as well, so I never got a cb cornuta.
CB Cornuta are supposed to be easier to care for because their temperament is already acclimated to captivity. I believe they will eat for you easier.
Jim and Jess of Ivory Reptiles have a WC female that they acclimated to captive life with out too much difficulty. Jessica's Avatar pic is that female.
I have plenty of caatingas for sale if you are looking for one.![]()
